Private Counselling

Clients can self-refer for psychological treatment (counselling), you may also be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) which allows for a Medicare rebate to cover part of your session cost. You can discuss this further with your GP.

Your psychologist will start by getting to know you and your presenting issues or concerns. We will discuss your needs and what you would like to achieve from counselling. Treatment may include providing strategies or tools to assist you, education or helpful information so you can better understand your issues and activities or homework to assist in implementing change. At all times your psychologist will work with you to develop a plan that meets your needs, with a focus on improving your wellbeing.

We use a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you develop practical skills and strategies to manage and improve your psychological wellbeing. These may include;
